As we age, we tend to lose muscle and bone mass and may encounter various problems related to our muscles, joints, and bones, such as back pain, osteoarthritis, or osteoporosis. Daily exercise slackens the loss of muscle mass, reinforces bones, and reduces joint and muscle pain. Moreover, mobility and balance are enhanced, which decreases the risk of falling and suffering a grave injury, such as a hip fracture.
For
centuries, we have been told that we need to do daily exercise, avoid high-risk
behaviors, eat more fruits, vegetables, and proteins. Unfortunately, there is
not much change showed in our collective behavior.
A
recent Harvard study reveals that 20 to 40 percent of cancer cases, and half of
cancer deaths, could be prevented if people effectively stopped smoking,
avoided heavy drinking, maintained a healthy weight, and spent just 30 minutes
a day exercising.
According
to a top orthopedic surgeon in Atlanta, humans might be born with a genetic
process that is beyond their control, but it is possible to control our
destinies in terms of health and wellness. He suggested that health and certain
behaviors are related to a purpose in life. If one is connected to a purpose in
his or her life, he would be able to do various things that improve one’s
health and personal wellness and living healthier longer.
Justifiably,
immense societal change isn’t going to take place overnight. And medical
technology, exponential technologies, can make considerable progress in how we
understand growing bodies.
